Is the favorite pastime of
Centenarians
There are so many reasons to grow our own food
To prepare it myself & make sure that it chewed
To be out in the sun with my hands in the dirt
Planting and weeding keeps me calm and alert
Every day things change and grow
Salad greens are the first to show
Then rhubarb, kale baby carrots and beets
Blueberries, blackberries and strawberries for treats
Then all of a sudden the fall harvest is here
I'll freeze and dehydrate it for the rest of the year
